We are thrilled to welcome Maggie Sellers as the new Food Service Director at the Baptist University of Florida (BUF)! Maggie is a native of Hartford, Alabama, where she was born and raised, and she brings a wealth of experience and a passion for hospitality to her role at BUF.
Before joining our team, Maggie owned and operated Sweet Crumbs, a beloved full-service bakery known for everything from individual slices of cake to elaborate wedding cakes. Her extensive food service background spans over a decade in commercial kitchens. Following the birth of her son Chip, she transitioned to education, working with the Geneva County School System as a high school bookkeeper and later as a kindergarten teacher.
At BUF, Maggie will oversee daily food operations and plan nutritious and delicious menus for students and staff. She describes her position as more than just a job. It’s a calling.
“I have a passion for hospitality, a heart for service, and a love of bringing good food to students and staff each day. I believe BUF is exactly where God wants me to be in this season.” – Maggie Sellers
Faith is central to Maggie’s approach to life and leadership. As an active member of Hartford Baptist Church, she views her role in food service as a ministry, committed to nourishing both the body and the spirit. Maggie firmly believes in using her spiritual gift of service to glorify God through her work.
Outside of her professional duties, Maggie loves spending time with her family—husband Austin and their children, Mary Charles (6) and Chip (4). She enjoys trips to the beach, baking treats for friends, and making pepper jelly with her mom.
Maggie finds encouragement in Ephesians 3:20-21, a verse that inspires her. As for a fun fact about Maggie? She humorously admits, “I don’t have many,” but she does share proudly that she’s kept the same close group of friends since elementary school and has impressively never received a speeding ticket!
Welcome to the BUF family, Maggie! We’re excited to have you bring your talents and heart to our community.
