We’re excited to welcome Brandon Webster to the Baptist University of Florida (BUF) family as our new Director of Data Management and Analytics! Along with his director role, he will be serving as our Associate Professor of Data Science as well. Originally from the small town of Nashville, North Carolina (not to be confused with Nashville, Tennessee), Brandon brings an impressive background and heartfelt passion for mentorship and discipleship to our team.
Bringing Expertise to BUF
Before joining BUF, Brandon dedicated 20 years of service as a data scientist and analytics leader in the U.S. Air Force, where he spearheaded data initiatives. Following his retirement from military service, he continued leveraging his skills at CarePortal, a nonprofit focused on supporting vulnerable children and families.
Aligning Faith and Purpose
Brandon was drawn to BUF because of its Christ-centered mission and dedication to nurturing the next generation. Seeing an opportunity to merge his technical expertise with meaningful kingdom work, he felt a clear calling to join our university family.
In his daily role, Brandon will lead BUF’s efforts to modernize our data infrastructure, enhancing institutional reporting, and creating analytics that empower informed decision-making across campus. He looks forward to simplifying processes for faculty and staff, allowing more time and energy to be dedicated to serving students and fulfilling our shared mission.
Faith in Action
Faith profoundly influences Brandon’s professional life. He believes even the most technical tasks can be avenues for reflecting Christ’s love and uplifting those around him. His life verse, Matthew 6:33, encapsulates his approach: “Seek first his kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Life Beyond Data
Outside of work, Brandon enjoys precious family time. Whether embarking on Disney vacations, relaxing poolside, or simply enjoying quality moments with his wife and children. His passion also extends into DIY projects, ranging from home networking setups to constructing off-grid solar systems.
A surprising fact about Brandon? He and his family of seven, including their two dogs, once embraced a unique adventure of living in an RV for nine months. The experience, filled with outdoor exploration and simplicity, became a treasured chapter in their lives.
We warmly welcome Brandon to BUF and eagerly anticipate the positive impact his expertise and spirit will bring to our community!
